Consideration to Name Airport After Vizianagaram Presidency King P.V.G. Raju
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed the GMR Group to expedite the construction of the Bhogapuram International Airport in Vizianagaram district, setting a completion target for June 2026. Although GMR Group initially projected the completion by December 2026, they have committed to striving for the earlier deadline.
During his inaugural visit to the airport site, Mr. Naidu emphasized the need for an action plan to allocate an additional 500 acres for aviation-related industries, aiming to prioritize local employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the local community’s request to name the airport after the former Vizianagaram Presidency king P.V.G. Raju, assuring that the proposal would be given due consideration.
